I think Ive put on maybe 1500kms this summer on my bike. Just because of work schedule and no where to store my bike where I work.
IMHO, nothing beats the combined comfort and pickup of the high-end sport touring bikes like the ST1300, K1600, and even the FJR1300.
I have my ST and my friend has a gsxr, his bike has a higher top speed but cannot compete with my bike’s takeoff ability…I’m constantly surprising sport bike riders that think they can beat my bike off the line.
Sundays around 8 or 9 am would work for me
So, no interest on my bike for sale and my contract for working out of town got cancelled, means that I’ll be keeping my bike and staying in Edmonton.
I’d be up for any schedule rides, probable as a bi-weekly/monthly thing
Hwy 1a from Cochrane to lake Louise, best stretch of road in Alberta, in terms of scenery + twisties.
The bike won’t be sitting around in the garage and I would be buying a new bike for next year
I’ll be out of town working and if everything works out bikeless :'(
nice looking bike, hopefully it treats you well
Also depends on the make of the bike.
Some manufacturers have a real trouble in making bikes that can last without any severe failures in them.
My dad had an ’85 goldwing that he sold 2 years ago with 270,000 kms on it. My ST has 110,000kms which I’m looking at selling this spring.
BMWs and Yamahas are also easily capable of achieviving 100,000+kms without any major problems. but it always comes down to the maintenance, if the bike is properly maintained (like any other vehicle) it will last a long time.
Except Harleys, i’ve not met anyone with a Harley that is over 50,000 kms ;D
The bike show was a lot better this year, I believe I have found my next bike, it’ll be between the Honda st1300 and BMW k1600
I’ll be going to this one saturday afternoon
it’s been sold
How about august 30th?
HWY 1A from lake louise, IMHO, is the best road around Calgary, then HWY 40, HWY 22 south is not too bad either.
I think I have about 2000-2500 kms on my bike this year…I know, it’s shitty
